Colorgraf, in collaboration with Federchimica, Certiquality and Ergo Srl (the first Spin off company of the Scuola Superiore di Studi Universitari e di Perfezionamento Sant’Anna di Pisa) has been protagonist in the development of the “COACH” tool, a tool created with the aim of measuring the circularity of companies.
In a circular economy context where the goal is to maximize and maintain the value of resources, products and materials by creating a system that enables renewability, optimal long life of use or reuse, refurbishment, remanufacturing, recycling and biodegradation, the working group was born with the need to offer methods and indicators for effective measurement of circularity in chemical companies.
Pioneering this measurement, Colorgraf pioneered the proposed method by contributing to the implementation of the tool by giving a concrete example to companies that subsequently joined the measurement initiative in the various areas of circularity. The result of the application of the COACH method is a verification report with the final analysis in relation to the satisfaction of the measurement principles applied combined with useful elements for the definition of improvement actions and opportunities to increase the level of circularity.
This collaboration led to the birth of the ISO objectives for circular economy standards and the subsequent publication of the ISO 59000 series, which includes the three interconnected standards ISO 59004, ISO 59010 and ISO 59020, and the creation of the UNI TS 11820 technical specification.
Both provide a tool for organizations to measure and assess circularity: they are applicable at multiple levels of an economic system, starting from the regional, inter-organizational, organizational level down to the finished product; they provide criteria for collecting information taking into account social, environmental and economic impacts in assessing circularity performance with the advantage of being able to certify the data obtained from company measurements.
Once again Colorgraf has demonstrated its concrete commitment to the concept of sustainability and its willingness to fully adhere to a circular economy.
